Hi, I’m Erin. Great to Meet You.

I’m a freelance writer with a nearly insatiable love for food + travel. Prior to writing professionally, I spent 20+ years in the hospitality industry, a career that fed and deepened my love for cultural exploration through culinary tradition.

Growing up moving around stoked an enduring curiosity, and a compulsion for cyclical change. Perpetual “new kid syndrome” forced the expansion of my comfort zone early on, particularly as an introvert. Eventually, that blossomed into a love for solo travel.

I love to write, cook, host dinner parties, make collages from stacks of old National Geographics, and take long, meandering walks whilst devouring obscene quantities of podcasts. Guilty pleasures include BBC period dramas, babaganoush, and herbaceous gin.

I live in Dublin with my husband, Massimiliano, where we pander to the whims of our irresistible feline sovereign, Irie.

THE ROUXX

A roux is a thickening base for recipes made from equal parts flour and fat, building body and richness in a dish. Translating this from a culinary concept into a how-to-build-a-life concept, my own roux is a blend of travel, food, and discovery. Embracing this foundation keeps me rooted as I move through the world.

In Ireland, “xx” represents two kisses.
